Membership is offered to those who have successfully taken The Reading Center’s Basic or Advanced Orton-Gillingham Training Institutes and who are not currently employed by The Reading Center as Academic Language Therapists.  We are offering members exclusive Reading Center resources to support you (as an Academic Language Therapist), to enable skills growth and to practice Orton-Gillingham at high levels of proficiency. The annual fee is $229/year.

Orton-Gillingham Lesson Planning Resources

This includes templates for each of the basic phonograms and (coming later in 2019) * NEW* Word lists produced by Jean Osman and Terri Peterson (Academy Fellows) with coordination by The Reading Center. These Fellows have prepared more than 500 pages of word lists for the most basic phonograms in the Language Toolkit.

Orton-Gilligham Video Refresher Resources

Resources include phonogram sounds, practice and multiple spelling videos and demonstration of Orton-Gillingham technique and exercise videos.

Demonstration of Orton-Gillingham Lessons

Resources include videos of 1:1 and group Orton-Gillingham lessons taught by Master Teachers.

Video Content Provided on the Structure of the English Language

Content includes Syllable Patterns, Syllable Division Rules, Suffixes, and Orton-Gillingham Lessons

Resource Teaching Tools

Kinesthetic tools and manipulatives, to enhance Orton-Gillingham instruction. Includes comprehension visualizing, syllable bingo, sound/sort phonogram, and more!

Consulting with an Orton-Gillingham Specialist

Each member is given 45 minutes of annual consultation on a variety of topics that may include: tutoring issues, interpret/clarify evaluations and what that means for tutoring, or inquiries regarding certification to the Academy. Additional consulting available at a rate of $75/hour

Connecting to The Reading Center Orton-Gillingham Academic Language Therapist Meetings and Discussion and Practice Groups

Log in remotely to live Academic Language Therapist (ALT) meetings providing professional development training with lectures on relevant topics. CEUs and handouts to support meeting content are included. There is temporary access to filmed ALT meetings and handouts to support meeting content. ALT Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month from 10:45am-12:15pm (Sep., Oct., Nov., Jan., Feb., Mar., Apr.).

** NEW ** All members may now log onto Online Discussion and Practice Group meetings are held before the ALT Meetings, from 10:00-10:45am. These are smaller groups of ALTs who meet to discuss new material and individual student cases led by a Master Teacher.
