Testing: The testing, which takes from 2 to 4 hours, documents skills in the areas of reading, spelling, listening, math, and vocabulary.
Analysis of test results: The standardized tests are scored and other previous testing is reviewed.
Conference: The client and/or family confers with the evaluator during an in- depth 1 to 2 hour-long conference. This opportunity to discuss the test results, recommendations, questions, and concerns may be scheduled the same day as the tests if the client must travel from another town.
Written report: Due to the comprehensive nature of the evaluation, there is preparation time between the completion of testing and the finished written report. Consult with your evaluator for an estimate of when your written report may be ready.
Educational Therapy: Educational Therapists with special training provide services in reading, spelling, writing skills, and math. Lessons are arranged with a therapist who can work individually or in small groups with the student, focusing attention on special needs. The duration and frequency of lessons vary depending on individual circumstances. Lessons are typically forty-five minutes to an hour in length, for a minimum of twice a week. Parents and the therapist agree to the length of lesson time most appropriate for a student.
