For Emerging Readers, ages 4 – 6 years old with a parent or other special adult.
Children that enter kindergarten with exposure to reading concepts and who are explicitly taught the way reading works are at an advantage in school. This class helps all emerging readers become readers. The week long class is filled with fun activities, games, songs, and stories that reinforce the essential elements of reading identified by the National Reading Panel . For parents, Reading Readiness teaches the easy do-at-home activities that can be woven into the family’s day that support and reinforce the skills needed to read. Individual assessment are conducted prior to class to determine the child's strengths and weaknesses which helps plan the curriculum. Wear ccomfortable play clothes.
