•   Students not proficient at reading by the beginning of third grade have only a 25% chance of catching up over their entire public school experience.[1]

• The link between academic failure and delinquency, violence and crime is welded to reading failure[2]
• 75% of unemployed adults have reading or writing difficulties [3]

• 70% of US prison inmates cannot read above a 4^th grade level [4]

 Make a difference by giving a child the chance to succeed in school and in life. 

 Our priorities include underwriting costs for:

         1) Need-based scholarships for testing /educational therapy

         2) Outreach Education Series free to the public

         3) Best of Basics Summer Program

         4) Reading Readiness programming
