  • Tend: an extensive lending library with specialized materials

October is Dyslexia Awareness Month

Dyslexia Dash   October 8 Have fun and help support the Reading Center while participating in our annual walk/ run.  Appropriate for the whole family.  Register here.      For more information

Panel Discussion:  October 10 Hear and learn from people that  live with dyslexia.  Questions and sharing are encouraged. Free and open to the public.   Appropriate for adults and mature teens.  Registration requested to assure enough seating.    Register here.

Simulation: Walk in the Shoes of a Dyslexic Person  October 18 Learn about dyslexia by experiencing some of the feelings that persons with dyslexia live with  each and every day.   Free and open to the public.  Appropriate for adults and mature teens.   Registration is required. Free Children's Event at the Library.  Meet Acclaimed Children's Book Illustrator James Pinkney on November 13th 2-3pm  A wonderful opportunity for kids to interact with James Pinkney while he shares his skills as a gifted artist and his struggles as a person with dyslexia.  Registration is requested.  Register here

65 Year Anniversary Dinner and Celebration

Join us for a social hour and seated dinner to celebrate The Reading Center  65th year anniversary--- serving individuals with dyslexia and training others to help them become readers.  James Pinkney, world renowned children's book illustrator,  will share the story of his life as an artist  and dyslexic learner.  Reserve a ticket or reserve a table here.
